YOGA INSTRUCTOR CERTIFICATE COURSE
(YICC)
(3 Months Duration)
PREAMBLE:
Yoga is an integral part of Indian cultural
and spiritual heritage. The science of
Yoga promotes physical, mental and spiritual
health and also helps an individual to
lead a happy and healthy life, thus bring
harmony and peace in the society. In the
modern days, the techniques of Yogic Science
are extremely useful in the management
of stress and stress related disorders
and to promote positive health of an individual.
Yoga has attracted the global attention
in recent years. The awareness about Yoga
practices is increasing amongst people
from different walks of life not only
for preservation, promotion of health,
but also for prevention and management
of diseases. Keeping in view the time
tested benefits of Yoga and it is being
highly economical, it is felt that Yoga
education should be imparted through adhering
to classical knowledge so that people
trained in Yoga can derive maximum benefits.
The introduction of present course is
to meet the aforesaid objectives. This
Course is designed to provide intensive
training in theory, Yoga practical and
teaching techniques to working groups
or professionals and develop them to become
Yoga Instructors to teach Yoga to their
respective working group. Each course
shall be for a specific working group.
E.g. School teachers, Army personnel,
Nurses, Medical Professionals, Scientists,
Ministerial Staff, Engineers, IT personnel
and others.
1. Title
The course shall be called "Yoga
Instructor Certificate Course" (YICC)
2. Duration:
This is a part time regular course and
is extended over a period of three months.
The course will be conducted 6 days a
week. There will be 2 hours of instructions
(Theory & Practical) every day.
3. Objectives:
The course is designed
i. To introduce Yoga as a science of Holistic
living.
ii. To impart the standardized teaching
and training facilities in Yoga for
physical, mental and spiritual well being
of individuals.
ii. To increase mass awareness about health
applications of Yoga.
iii. To produce efficient Yoga Instructors.
iv. To provide Yoga Instructors to teach
Yoga to their respective working
Group
4. Eligibility
a. Essential:
A candidate who has passed at least 10+2
examination from a recognized Board or
equivalent shall be eligible to take admission
to this course. However, graduates and
persons having elementary knowledge about
Yoga and Yogic practices shall be given
preference.
b. Desirable:
i. Familiarity with concept/philosophy
and practices of Yoga.

English
6. Hours of instruction:
There will be one theory class and one
practical class every day of one hour
duration. Total number of teaching hours
will be: Theory 60 hours and 100 practical
hours. Students shall also complete 30
hours of field work to complete the requirements.
There will be two Seminars and two practical
demonstrations.
7. Intake Capacity
Maximum 12 candidates shall be given admission
in one course.
8. Attendance:
A student shall attend a minimum of 90%
of total instruction hours in a paper
(theory/practical)

10. Fees for the program (per individual):
Rs. 5000.00 for three months (including
registration, course fee (course material),
examination fee and certificate charges)
The training will be conducted by a Team
of experts in the field of Yoga and other
faculty of Sankalpa.
11. Rules for candidates for Certificate
Course in Yoga
1. Every student of the course should
report in time in all classes and maintain
discipline while at the institute.
2. Every student should maintain detailed
lecture notes. They should write in details
on the basis of lecture delivered by the
experts/ faculty for both theory and practice.
3. Minimum 90% attendance is compulsory
in all classes and faculty would maintain
register for them
12. Participation Certificate:
At the end of the course an Institutional
Examination will be conducted and successful
candidates will be issued a 'Yoga Instructor
Certificate'.
13. Schedule of the Certificate Course
in Yoga:

Reporting Time: 6.30 PM
Sessiion I 6.35 PM to 7.30 PM
Session II 7.35 PM to 8.20 AM
Prayer/ Discussion 8.20 PM to 8.30 PM
Library/ Seminar etc. 1 hour / week
14. Field work:
Each student of YICC should organize/
attend a Yoga training Program of two
weeks duration under the supervision of
a Yoga teacher. The concerned Yoga Instructor
shall evaluate the fieldwork report.
15. Seminar:
The YICC students shall conduct one seminar
each. They have to present any topic related
to Yoga (from the selected list of topics)
and answer the questions asked by the
faculty and the students. A detailed report
has to be written on the same topic. Students
shall also need to write 2 assignments
on different topics of Yoga as prescribed
by the Course Coordinator.
